Established in 2014, Bluetrain is a four piece Bluegrass Band consisting of veteran musicians, Dave Propst on lead vocals and mandolin, Ron Hall on vocals and guitar, Tom Reeves on vocals and bass, and George Osing on banjo.
Bluetrain can also accommodate a smaller budget by offering a 3 piece ensemble consisting of Dave Propst, Tom Reeves and George Osing.
This versatile bands song selection consists of mostly traditional bluegrass mixed with Country, and some Pop tunes as well. Their songs run from Standard bluegrass from the greats such as Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, Seldom Scene, etc. Country songs include The Fugitive, Is Anybody Going to San Antone, Your Cheatin Heart. Songs outside of the Bluegrass realm include Gordon Lightfoot’s Early Morning Rain, the Greatfull Dead’s Dark Hollow. Danceable bluegrass/irish instrumentals are a specialty. Bluetrain has performed at numerous venues in the Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia areas. Regular venues include The Columbia Lakefront Concert, The Lurman Theatre, Goofy’s Pub, Jumbo Jimmy’s Restaurant, The Blueside Tavern, the Morgan Inn, Rob’s Bluegrass Barn, Charm City Bluegrass Festival, Lucketts Community Center, Upperco Bluegrass Festival and many private parties and events.
Bluetrain is a professional sounding band and will work hard to make your event a successful one! We have our own professional sound equipment. We start “on time” and can customize your event as needed. Our rates are reasonable and fair. Bluetrain would be honored to play at your event!
